Which do you do most? Is there a reason, or does it happen naturally?

I actually wind up promoting others work more than my own. I do it by leaving comments and sharing their hubs. I usually just add a link for my hubs to my Twitter and Facebook.

There's no benefit to me promoting the work of someone else, unless that person hires me to work for them. I will promote the work of people I know and whose work I feel is of very high quality, but it's not the majority of what I do.

Naturally I put more effort into promoting my own work. But I have often shared other people's hubs I like on Facebook or Stumbleupon. If I see another hubber on Digg, and I like what they are promoting I will digg it and would hope they would at least look at my work and digg it if they like it. All of these things are easy, I wouldn't promote anything I didn't really like, because that would cheapen my recommendation, but it is an advantage to everyone, me, the other hubber and the reader, and even HubPages in general, if I recommend quality hubs.

I work the most on promoting my work, however, there are exceptions when I run across an extremely good article/hub or information source....Then I will spend some time promoting through various means.

Hi Veronica,
Hub Pages has been a wonderful classroom for me. My natural tendency is to focus on my work. I recently recognized how connected we all are and there are so many good writers out there, I mean really creative people who care about the same things I care about. I now can't help sharing their work because I find sharing the message and fun by one who really does it well is so much more important than my ego.
I do have to remind myself that I am still, a work in progress! LOL and thank for the lesson!

I attempt to have a mix of promoting my own work and those other writers I think tell the truth quite frankly. There was a recent unannounced change here on the Hub. If you publish and then click "Share With Followers" it tells you that it is not recommended and asks you "Yes" or "No." Why is that being discouraged? That's why we have followers, so they can read what we write.
But if you are on someone else's Hub and click that button, the question is not there and away it goes. Doesn't make sense to me.'
